Manchester City struggling to get back in League

Manchester City have just one victory in the last three league matches, but they are still being placed as the favourites to win a crucial match against Arsenal at the Etihad stadium. Manuel Pellegrini watched his team slip five points behind Chelsea after the table leaders managed a convincing 5-0 win over Swansea on Saturday.

City could potentially reduce this gap back to two points if they get a victory against Arsenal. Their recent record against the gunners has been excellent especially at home. This should give them a lot of confidence going into the Sunday’s match.

There are several excellent odds available for this match. City has scored numerous goals against Arsenal in recent years, but without a fully fit Aguero, they are not expected to be at their best in this regard. Hence, a narrow 2-1 victory for the reigning Premier League champions is given odds of 17/2. One can also bet on Aguero scoring for the first time since returning from a lengthy injury layoff. The Argentine saw Costa extend his advantage in the Golden Boot award by scoring two more against Swansea. The Chelsea striker leads the race with 17 goals compared to the 14 for Aguero. The 26-year-old is 4/1 to score anytime against Arsenal.

Pellegrini says that City will have to be wary of the threat from Alexis Sanchez.“I think Alexis is a very good player, he is having a very good season in England. It is not easy for a player in his first season here to score so many goals, (but) Alexis is repeating what he did in the last two seasons at Barcelona and scoring a lot of goals.I am very happy for him because he is a young player and a very enthusiastic player and improving. The football fans in Chile are very happy for him and for the country,” said Pellegrini.
